According to the Parliamentary Budget Office forecast, the Georgian economy will increase by 6.7% in 2022. The real GDP growth forecast (6.7%) in 2022 is 0.7 percentage points (pp) higher compared to the government forecast (6.0%) and differs (1.1 pp higher) from the PBO forecast published in December 2021.
According to the Parliamentary Budget Office forecast, the Georgian economy will increase by 5.6% in 2022. The real GDP 2022 growth forecast (5.6%) is 0.4 percentage points (pp) lower compared to the government forecast (6.0%). This forecast doesn't differ from the forecast published in November (5.6%), which predicted the high economic growth of the current year. However, the additional information available over the past month has led the Budget Office to increase the current year's economic growth forecast

As per the Budget Code, following the delivery of macroeconomic forecasts and information concerning basic directions of Georgia's ministries by the government of Georgia to the parliament, the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) is publishing its independent forecasts.
Major dynamics of the forecasted variables are as follows:
• The real GDP growth forecast for 2021 (6.8%) is 0.3 percentage points (pp) higher than the government's economic growth forecast (6.5%) and differs (1.6 pp higher) from the forecast released by the PBO in December 2020.
