We would like to announce, that in December, Parliamentary Budget Office started a new project on “Video notes of basic concepts of macroeconomics and public financial management". The project aims to present explanations of basic conceptions in short video presentations format that may be interesting for the customers of Parliamentary Budget Office products. The video notes can be found at the link below: www.pbo.parliament.ge/available only in Georgian
The project also considers preparing video notes on each research publications of Parliamentary Budget office. As an example you can see: research publication on “fiscal multiplier: the essence and evaluation”

On September 25, 2015 with the support of the program of "USAID - Good Governance Initiative (GGI) in Georgia" the business meeting was held with the members of the Parliament and representatives of the committees about the recent activities of the Parliamentary Budget Office and State Audit Office. On August 25-26, 2015 in the framework of the technical assistance provided by the European Union "To Support the Public Finance Policy and Management Reforms in Georgia", the EU Expert and professor of the University of Maryland Dr. Manouchehr Mokhtari conducted the two-day seminar for the Budget Office and the representatives of the committee. The seminar was about the main aspects of macroeconomic policy analysis.
During the seminar, several topics of evaluating public investments (cost-benefit analysis), evidence-based policy analysis, macroeconomic modelling and analysis from theoretical as well as from practical point of view were discussed.

In the framework of the technical assistance provided by the European Union to support "The Public Finance Policy and Management Reforms in Georgia", the EU senior Expert Dr. Manouchehr Mokhtari visits the Parliamentary Budget Office of Georgia. The visit focuses on the assistance of the Budget Office in macroeconomic analysis/forecasting and cost-benefit analysis of legislative initiatives and includes both training and practical assistance in above-mentioned directions. Currently, trainings are held for the staff members of the Parliamentary Budget Office about theoretical and practical aspects of cost-benefit analyses.
On 7th July, 2015 the meeting was held between the members of the Parliament of Georgia and the representatives of the Budget Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia organized within the program of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur lnternationale Zusammenarbeit) about "Public Finance Management in South Caucasia". The visit aimed to discuss and share experiences of two countries about reforms implemented to strengthen the parliamentary oversight and financial control of Government.
